Beginner Books
- *** Star Guide To Weddings by April Elliott Kent
- This is a new book due out in February 2008, a must have if you are planning a wedding. You can pre-order at April's website: www.bigskyastrology.com.
- *** The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need by Joanna Martine Woolfolk
- This is the first astrology book I ever read and it is the one that got me hooked on astrology. It gives in depth information on all the planets and signs and gets you started on constructing your own chart.
- *** The Inner Sky by Steven Forrest
- The "Sky Trilogy" is a must have in any astrology library.
- ***The Changing Sky by Steven Forrest
- The 2nd book in the "Sky Trilogy" is a great introduction to predictive astrology.
- *** Skymates by Steven Forrest and his wife Jodie Forrest
- The third book in the trilogy is a fabulous introduction to relationship astrology.
- ** Skymates 2, Planets in the Composite Chart by Steven and Jodie Forrest
- The composite chart is a chart of the relationship itself derived from the average position (midpoints) of the planets in the two individual charts. I'm still testing the composite chart, I'll let you know when I have a final verdict.
- ** Numerology, Key to Your Inner Self. by Hans Decoz and Tom Monte
- Numerology offers us a lot of insight into ourselves as well and this is good basic numerology book.
- * How to Read Your Astrological Chart by Donna Cunningham
- This is another good beginner book it teaches the reader about planets, signs, houses and aspects and gets you started on reading your own chart.
- * Astrology for Yourself by Douglass Bloche and Demetra George
- This is another good learning tool, in workbook format where you go through and fill in the answers.
Intermediate Books
- *** Astrology Karma and Transformation by Stephen Arroyo
- I highly recommend this one, I bought this one really early on in my studies and I still refer to it often.
- *** Planets in Transit by Rob Hand
- This is another must have in any astrology collection it gives "cookbook" interpretations for all the major transits so you can refer to it daily.
- *** The Book of Pluto by Steven Forrest
- A talented writer and one of the great astrologers of our time.
- *** How To Handle Your Human Relationships by Lois Haines Sargant
- This is an older book (late 50's) on synastry and relationships and for the most part it still applies today. A book every astrologer should have in their library.
- ** Aspects in Astrology by Sue Tompkins
- This is a good "aspect" book and she gives solid interpretations of all the planetary combos.
- ** The Twelve Houses by Howard Sasportas
- A great book on the houses with in depth "cookbook" interpretations for all the planets in each house, I still refer to it often.
- ** The Astrology of Family Dynamics by Erin Sullivan
- I really like this book, family astrology is so fascinating. It truly is amazing to see astrology at work in families.
- ** Relationships and Life Cycles by Stephen Arroyo
- Published in the late 70's this book offers some more good insights into relationships and the art of chart comparison.
- ** Surviving Saturn's Return by Sherene Schostak and Stefanie Iris Weiss
- Geared towards woman, but it works for both sexes. I actually went back and reread this recently and I recommend it to people in their 20's preparing for their first Saturn Return.
- * The Astrological Neptune and the Quest for Redemption by Liz Greene
- A great book on the planet Neptune but I must warn you it's long winded.
- * Saturn a New Look at an Old Devil by Liz Greene
- This book gives some modern day insights into the planet Saturn, Liz Greene is a brilliant astrologer and this book offers some good insights but I guess I have a short attention span because her writing seems really long winded to me.
Professional Books
- *** Person Centered Astrology by Dane Rudhyar
- A classic book by legendary astrologer Dane Rudyard
- *** Synthesis & Counseling in Astrology, the Professional Manual by Noel Tyl
- Noel Tyl teaches a very efficient astrology technique and this is his 800-page text book.
- *** Solar Arcs: Astrology's Most Successful Predictive System by Noel Tyl
- I love this book because Noel recounts his life story from an astrological point of view.
- ** The Astrology of Intimacy, Sexuality & Relationship by Noel Tyl
- This is good booking for Professional astrologers to have in their library, in it he presents us with numerous case studies so we get to see him in action.
- ** Astrology a Language of Life, Vol. 4 Relationship Analysis by Robert P. Blaschke
- This book is part of a series put together by Blaschke geared toward professional astrologers and I have to say I learned a lot of interesting things from it. He offers a very different view point than that of Tyl, that's what makes astrology so great.
