BE JON'S ASTROLOGER FOLLOW-UP

Long story short, no one stepped up to be my astrologer; and the Katherine Taylor Valentine's Day serenade, I'll admit was probably not the most brilliant idea to ever pop into my head. No regrets though, I had to give it my best shot. You have to take the risk to reap the reward.

If I did have an astrologer for the month of February, he or she would have seen that the secondary progressed Moon was conjunct my natal Saturn in the 7th house and they would have advised me to buckle down and take a more realistic (Saturn) approach to life and relationships (7th house) and to consolidate the ones I do have. They would have suggested that this is the right time to focus my ambitions and come up with a practical financial plan (Saturn rules my 2nd) for the future. This would also be a good time for me to seek advice and council from older, wiser (Saturn like) people.

My astrologer would have noted that solar arc Saturn had also moved into opposition with my natal Venus-Mercury conjunction in my second house and this reemphasizes the whole Saturn theme for me. This reality check would involve my finances (2nd house), my career (10th house) and my relationships (7th house) so I was getting tested on the big 3 (Love, Money and Career). I think Saturn made his point: I have a lot of work to do in these areas!

My astrologer would have seen a wild card however, and that would have been transiting Uranus conjunct my Jupiter and square my Ascendant. The fortune teller would have predicted good luck, sudden windfalls and big changes in my life. I have discovered however with Uranus change doesn't always happen so suddenly (it's an illusion). Most of the time change is a gradual process that takes place over the entire year (or longer) transit. So I look at it from the perspective of friends who haven't seen me in a couple of years — they are shocked (Uranus)! Whereas, I'm not. I've been going through this process of change gradually.

I'm now more free to be me. I have a more sober perspective on life, and with that, a newfound self-confidence. And I'm an up and coming young astrologer. As a friend just told me, that's an awful lot of good change in a short period of time. That's how Uranus works.

Astrologer Steven Forrest aptly describes this Uranian process as shedding the "layers of cultural artifacts" to get to your true self, which is not really change. I just finally got around to being more "me."
