ASTROLOGY ARTICLES BY JON A LOOK AT HILLARY CLINTON'S ASTROLOGYPoliticians usually make me feel sick to my stomach so I've never really had much interest in politics in years past. This year however I'm quite excited about the race because there is such diversity among the candidates. As a Capricorn I must admit that immediately I was attracted to John McCain's (a Virgo with a Capricorn Moon) experience and integrity. As an astrologer first and foremost I'm interested in people and their stories and John McCain's biography is quite an interesting one. I like the fact that it's not clean, there is plenty of dirt, and he's made mistakes and more importantly he's owned up to them. I definitely like the fact that he's a maverick, middle of the road (Libra rising), and not a hard core conservative. As I write this the New York Times is making allegations of improper conduct by McCain (some 20 years ago), but it doesn't seem to have any weight at all. Transiting Saturn is currently making the retrograde pass over McCain's Sun and I would suspect something similar to this (a resolution or culmination) in mid July when transiting Saturn makes his final pass over McCain's Sun. With Saturn we get exactly what we deserve (what we've earned) no more, no less. If he's been honest then this will be a time of great achievement and could bring even greater responsibility. Saturn is crystallization. The more flamboyant side of my nature (Aries, Sagittarius and strong Uranus) wants to see change, and both Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton certainly offer that. McCain detractors say the downside is the next four years will just be more of the same (a Bush 3rd term as they say). Obama (Leo, the rock star) brings youth and great energy, but is it all just pomp and circumstance? Is there any real substance there? He's the candidate that generates the most enthusiasm though; he's got "it" as they say. You can never count Hillary out though. She seems to be down for the count right now, but she's a tenacious Scorpio, and won't give up easily. I think she'll make a comeback in the approaching weeks, after all Scorpio is the sign of regeneration (death and rebirth). Honestly, I'm a little scared of Hillary, but I have great admiration for her strength and determination. Don't stick a fork in her yet. Hillary has a watery Scorpio-Pisces, Sun-Moon blend suggesting tremendous depth and determination, powerful emotions, and intuitive understanding. She controls by knowing. However, she has no planets in earth signs or earth houses in her chart. There is nothing grounding her or enabling her to turn her intuitive understanding, big dreams, and ideals into reality. She needs help in that department. And Saturn squares her Scorpio Ascendant, so even though (in my mind at least) she has a much better grasp on the important issues than Obama, she comes across as cold and hard. This perhaps appears worse than it really is because it is contrasted so dramatically by Obama's youth, good looks, dramatic presentation and charisma. She also has a Mars-Pluto conjunction in dramatic Leo broadly squaring her Ascendant suggesting a flair for the dramatic herself and re-emphasizing her tenacious (dare we say ruthless?) nature. There is some debate over Hillary's birth time. I tend to agree with the 8 am (21 Scorpio Rising) chart. This puts transiting Saturn on her Midheaven on March 4th. Similar to McCain's Saturn transit to the Sun this represents a life peak, it's time to reap what has been sown. Again with Saturn you get what you deserve, no more, no less. The goals she set and the foundation she laid 14 years ago when transiting Saturn was at the bottom of her chart (IC), will now bear the greatest fruit or failure. By the way, 14 years ago happens to be 1994: the midterm of Bill Clinton's first term, and exactly the year Hillary failed to get congressional support for the Clinton health care plan, her major initiative at that time. (At the midterm November 8th election of that year, transiting Saturn was conjunct Hillary's IC.) During the upcoming Democratic National Convention (August 25-28), the transiting Sun will be on Hillary's Midheaven, and this suggests, even if she doesn't actually get the nomination, that she will be extremely visible during this time. Then on Election Day (November 4th) transiting Mars will be on her Ascendant-Mercury (10th ruler) conjunction suggesting a fight for sure, however I can't tell who she will be fighting with (maybe Bill) or what she will be fighting for. Another interesting thing to note is that the solar arc Moon will be precisely on her Node during the Convention. Suggesting an extremely emotional time for her and also re-emphasizing her visibility (Moon symbolizes the public) during these days. Does this mean she'll be the Democratic nominee? Does it mean the nominee won't be decided until the convention? Or does it simply mean she will play an important role at the convention? The way it looks now in late February I'd have to say the last one but don't under estimate a Scorpio's ability to regenerate. Another important transit for Hillary during this period is transiting Uranus conjunct her 4th house Moon (9th house ruler), this undoubtly implies fireworks and sudden change for her emotionally and within her family and domestic life. Transiting Uranus makes a retrograde station within minutes of her natal Moon in late June so perhaps there will be some fireworks then. Perhaps the most disheartening transit of all is the transit of Neptune square her Ascendant-Mercury (MC ruler) and this will be within minutes of exact on November 4th. This transit, more than any other, suggests defeat and ego wipe out. Hard Neptune transits leave us feeling wiped out (even illness can occur), force us to surrender our egos, and can sometimes bring humiliating experiences. That said, Neptune can make us appear more glamorous and add glamour to our lives. But I just don't see how Hillary can win the Presidency with this transit active during the election in November. I really don't. She's a tough cookie though, I think she'll keep fighting and surprise a lot of people. |
