Does Jupiter Bring Windfalls or Just a Big Bag of Wind?

We get so excited, like a kid at Christmas, when transiting Jupiter aspects an important point in our chart; but so often he comes and goes without leaving us any presents, so we feel deflated. Jupiter is currently transiting right over my Ascendant and I feel like I want to strut around like a rooster, but at the same time I don't feel like I have a real legitimate reason to. I want my rewards now so I can strut with pride!

I have come to recognize Jupiter transits as times of opportunity, if we force ourselves to take initiative during these times, projects and relationships often become bigger (Jupiter) than we first imagined. It works the other way as well if we over indulge ourselves in our bad habits because we are feeling so good, we pay big (Jupiter) consequences down the road. If it's food we may put on quite a bit of weight, this is especially true when the Ascendant (appearance) is involved. I've been constantly hungry lately, so I've been making sure I run everyday to try to even it out, but I think the food may be winning anyways.

I know it's hard, but if we learn to lower our expectations and just try to concentrate on taking advantage of our opportunities and taking the initiative, we might feel pleasantly surprised rather than feeling like our bubble just burst. Jupiter's main function is expansion and Saturn's main function is restriction. Like Pen and Teller they don't work very well on their own but when working together, that's when the magic happens. At least that's what I keep telling myself and you while I privately dream of a big, fat windfall.
