ASTROLOGY ARTICLES BY JON WHEN LOVE COMES TO TOWN(And how we can sometimes predict this with astrology.)Everybody wants to know when they will fall in love; and a couple months ago, I was able to tell a friend of mine with certainty that she would be meeting somebody soon. This is very rare, but in my friend Stacy's particular case, the measurements were so strong I was certain. I wrote the forecast at the beginning of November 2007, outlining the month ahead, and came pretty close to the exact date. Here are the measurements that I saw for her: First of all, Stacy had secondary progressed (SP) Venus just past an exact conjunction with her natal Sun. This is usually a reliable indicator of love entering the person's life (if age and other factors concur), or at least some joy. Secondly, she had SP Midheaven just past an exact conjunction with her natal Venus. This is another good indicator (similar to the one above) of love entering a person's life. It usually means a change in social status involving Venus-ruled activities and this could easily imply a romantic partnership when other factors concur. Third, she had SP Moon conjunct her Descendant (also applying conjunction to her natal Neptune) this tells us that her reigning need at the time was for a relationship and the SP Moon coming to an angle always suggests an emotional time and usually indicates a new start of some kind. The month surrounding an exact SP Moon conjunction to a natal planet or angle is usually very significant in a person's life and acts as a trigger for other measurements. Fourth, she had transiting Neptune conjunct her Midheaven (MC). Outer planet transits to chart angles (Midheaven, Ascendant, Descendant, and the IC) usually indicate big change, but not necessarily love. In this case though transiting Neptune was coming from her 7th House of relationships (its location in her natal chart) and because of this placement, Neptune transits for her always relate in someway to relationships. Neptune in the 7th sometimes suggests self sacrifice in relationships and the inability to see relationships clearly (rose colored glasses). More positively, it can suggest creative and inspirational partnerships with a strong spiritual base. This theme is re-emphasized by the tight Venus-Neptune square in her natal chart. As it happened, the romance came out of the blue. (She told me it just dropped in her lap and she was immediately swept away.) I suggested, when we spoke soon after, that she might want to get to know this person better; but in her spunky and delightful Aries fashion, she informed me that she had basically moved in with her new partner, and they were now looking for a bigger place. This was three weeks after they met! Neptune coming to the MC usually suggests some kind of confusion about direction in life, and it is easy to get swept away. Neptune transits often manifest in the surrender of personal ego in order to serve some higher purpose or on the lower end escaping reality through drugs, alcohol or other artificial means. For creative people Neptune times can be highly productive though. The MC opposes the IC which refers to one's roots and domestic situation so this area of life is currently under Neptune's spell as well. Additionally, Uranus is currently in transit square her Ascendant, so this could be an indicator of an extremely exciting, but ultimately very unstable relationship. The purpose of the relationship, taking all these factors into consideration, may be to break her out of the routine of life and move Stacy further along the path of individuation; and if it survives this period of instability it could endure. Fifth, transiting Jupiter (ruler of Stacy's Seventh House) was in her Seventh House of relationships just past a conjunction with her natal Neptune and applying trine to her natal Sun. This was her reward time. Noel Tyl refers to the Jupiter-Sun cycle as the reward cycle. The trigger was transiting Sun trine her natal Uranus (a pleasant surprise) and simultaneously transiting Sun trine her natal Venus (a pleasant surprise in love). That's how I narrowed it down to the exact date. I also need to note that in Stacy's natal chart, she has a tight trine between Venus in Pisces and Uranus in Scorpio so this kind of sudden (Uranus) love affair (Venus) is written in her natal chart. We always have to keep the natal chart in mind when working with the other predictive techniques because the natal chart as they say is the "root prediction". And last but certainly not least, this was also the time of the first exact hit of Stacy's first Saturn Return (in her 4th house of home) and which is always a reality check. The Saturn Return is our rite of passage into adulthood and always involves some great test. This is where this lovely Neptunian romance will meet reality. If it survives Saturn's test, it could last a long, long time. January 31stI just recieved an e-mail from Stacy today and she happily reported to me that she and her new love are still together and doing well. They moved in together at the end of December. They have spent every night together (except one) since their second date. She told me her whole world shifted in November!! Here's what she said about my prediction:
Stacy is also using her Neptune transit to the Midheaven very constructively as she is releasing an all-acoustic, all-original full length album next month. In fact, it looks like it will coincide precisely with another exact hit from Neptune to her Midheaven! You can hear her music at: myspace.com/tieyourshoelacesmusic. |
